Aaarrrrggghhhhh

I'm putting Katie to bed and pointing out that she behaves until it's bedtime and then she stops behaving. I took away a set of toys last night for one day. Tonight I told her that I was taking them away for another day. She looked up at me and said, "That's two days. That's not that long." Perturbed

She did say no when I asked her if she wanted me to make it a week. Is that a good sign? Fainting

She's testing you Mary. They love pushing that button, over and over and over again. It's kinda like the power window button in a car. They watch it go up, then down, then up, then down. Maybe you should check in with SuperNanny;)

I watch SuperNanny or Nanny 911, can't remember, when I want to feel good about my parenting skills. If Katie were as bad as the kids on that show she'd be mince meat by now. Although I have to say, I have picked up a tip or two from the show.

I did not mean to imply that Katie needed SuperNanny. Those kids are brutal little brats and the parents don't know what there doing either. Cheyanne and I love to watch SuperNanny and I do like some of her techniques.

I love the expression "they just need a beat down"

Mary...Katie is WAY too smart for Supernanny! The nanny would take off running after the first morning! God bless loveabulls!!

Debbie, I didn't think that you meant Katie need SupperNanny. :) Although I'm thinking that maybe I should tape a couple of those and watch them when she's really acting up. Everything is relative.

Ya know, you have to give the kid points. She's strong. Sticks up for herself. I like her.

I guess you have to go with her strong side, and see if she can help you. Ask her what you can do to help her to behave the way you want her to.

Ohhhh kid logic! She's a tough cookie that lil Katie !

I remember one time I spanked my son when he was little and he turned around shruged his shoulders at me and I swear the look on his face said "if that's all you got"...like he had no worries.

Ahhh it gets better....errrr so they tell me.

Tell her she is a very good girl. Then give her some craft sticks with the words good things, and some with naughty things. Every time she does some thing good or naughty a stick is removed. At the end of evening when it is bedtime, count the sticks. On Friday night count the sticks for the last night that week, more good sticks than naughty,a reward. If naught prefails for the week, a chore. Give it a try be consistant. Hope it helps. :)

That's a great idea Roddy, thanks. I may make it specific to good or naughty at bedtime since that seems to be the trouble spot, but that would be an interesting experiment. And I'm tired of stickers, although we haven't done that in a while either.

Be thankful, when Barb spanks Jacki she looks at Barb afterwards and says "mom, that didn't hurt". (I informed Barb that you have a little Jacki on your hands, she wishes you luck) :)
